Shane

Before: Computer student

Update: Shane returned to school to complete his education in computer programming, and has since found employment through UPS.

Intention: Continue developing his skills as a computer programmer and new media producer.

Martin

Before: Student

Plan: Launch a career as an environmental consultant, particularly in the forestry sector.

Update: He is now finishing his BSc in Environmental Studies in Quebec. During the summers, Martin has full time employment with the Quebec provincial ministry of the environment.

Intention: complete his education before finding work as an environmental consultant.

Shirley

Before: Student

Plan: to become a journalist.

Update: Shirley is going into her fourth year of Journalism at Humber College. Shirley has been creating an on-camera reel for herself, as she aspires to be an on-air journalist/personality.

Intention: Complete her final year of Humber, and secure work as a journalist.

Liyat

Before: Student, BA in Music, MA in Communications

Plan: To work in film and TV production.

Time devoted to plan: 75%

Update: Currently working as the office manager for a bridal store, Liyat continues to explore opportunities in the media. She has worked as sound engineer for Wench Radio, and provided camera work for a series of independent shorts. She is studying French at
U of T.

Intention: Continue to improve her skills in relation to TV and film production.

Christian

Before: College Graduate, Horticulture

Plan: Create a horticultural design, engineering and management company.

Time devoted to plan: 100%

Update: Christian recently returned from a contract in Morocco and has secured a contract with Les Jardins de Metis in Quebec where he will develop a new garden system.

Intention: Solidify Quebec's summer market and expand into the Indian Ocean.

Melanie

Before: college graduate, eco-tourism

Plan: Launch a career as a travel consultant

Time devoted to plan: 100%

Update: Melanie is employed as manager at one of the leading travel agencies in Ottawa, Canada.

Intention: Continue to develop her skills in the tourism industry.
